Kirinyaga governor Ann Waiguru has opened up on why she ditched Jubilee Party, now associated with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for United Democratic Alliance (UDA) which is associated with Deputy President William Ruto.
Waiguru who officially joined UDA today disclosed that she made the magnificent political move after consulting widely with Kirinyaga residents who overwhelmingly voted for her in 2017.
Speaking after joining UDA, Waiguru pointed out that she will now embark on drumming up support for Ruto and other political hopefuls under the young party.
“After extensive consultation with the Kirinyaga people, I have officially decamped to the hustler nation. 2022 Chama ni UDA, Form ni Hustler, Mpango ni BottomUp,” she posted on her official Facebook account.
With her, Waiguru was accompanied to Ruto’s Karen residence by members of the Kirinyaga county assembly led by the Majority Leader, Hon. Murango, Speaker, Hon. Gathumbi, Deputy Speaker, Hon. Joel and Chair Women Caucus Hon. Lilian.

“As a team, we will walk United so as to achieve development and growth for our people through the bottom-up economic model,” she added.
She acclaimed Ruto alongside a host of other leaders for warmly welcoming her to the Hustler political faction expressing optimism that they will form the next government.
