Zetech University Vice Chancellor Prof Njenga Munene has urged students pursuing various courses in higher learning institutions to embrace technology as an added advantage in their career.

The VC stated that creativity, being innovative and being well versed with the relevant technology will give students a competitive edge in the job market once they graduate.

He spoke at the University in Ruiru, Kiambu County during a graduation ceremony where some 1,786 graduands were conferred with Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates.

“For you to create a network of relevant people, it is in order that you all endeavor to apply soft skills in your areas of specialization. Also, be entrepreneurial in your mindset because that is the future of those aspiring to grow economically,” he noted.

“As a higher learning institution, we have already established an environment that incubates those with great ideas for commercialization. To showcase our commitment in the business sector, the university has introduced entrepreneurship as a unit for all Zetech learners,” he said.

Deputy Vice Chancellor Dr Alice Njuguna said that the institution has adopted a realistic strategic plan that will guide the University towards the leading edge in academic and research excellence.

She noted that faculty and staff development will be upheld to enhance quality teaching, research, innovation and professional practice.

“It is our desire to see our graduates being resourceful to them and to society. We want them to live in integrity so that they can offer solutions to the many challenges we have as a country and a people,” she said.
